OXIDE SUPERCONDUCTING WIRE AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a Bi-2212 oxide superconducting wire in which breakage of the wire hardly occurs and the shape of the superconductor filament is hardly deformed during plastic working. SOLUTION: In fabricating a multi-core wire by collecting a plurality of element wires having a barrier material, a metal coated wire coated with silver or silver alloy on the surface of the barrier material layer is used as a superconducting element wire having a barrier material. The superconductor filament in the multi-core wire after the plasticity processing is made to be 5 or less in its ratio (Tmax/Tmin) between the maximum thickness (Tmax) and the minimum thickness (Tmin) of the filament.
