PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a recording medium to record contents signals to be easily grouped. SOLUTION: When a recording medium for recording contents signals and additional information for managing the contents signals for every track is used and group management information for grouping the contents signals by track units is included in the additional information, when it is determined that any group for recording is not designated in an ST11, a new group is added to the additional information in an ST14, and the tracks of the signals to be recorded are registered in the group in an ST15. When recording music is ended, the additional information is updated according to the addition of music in an ST18. When any recording music remains in an ST19, the process is returned to the ST15, and the tracks of the next recording music are added to the same group. When it is determined that any recording music is absent in an ST19, the updated additional information of a work memory is recorded in the recording medium in an ST28.
