PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a monitoring system whose workability is easy by connecting a surveillance camera to a camera slave unit and also to improve visibility and crime prevention property by outputting either an image imaged by the camera part of the camera slave unit or an image imaged by the surveillance camera as a clear image without deterioration on the monitor part of a master unit. SOLUTION: When the image of a visitor imaged by the camera part 13 of the camera slave unit is outputted onto the monitor part 22 of the master unit of a resident side in such a manner that the visitor presses down the call button on the camera slave unit, the camera slave unit is provided with a selection circuit 14 for connecting the surveillance camera 3 through a surveillance camera connection terminal T2 and selecting either the image imaged by the camera part or the image imaged by the surveillance camera, and the master unit is provided with a switching button 24 for performing, by the resident, selection control of the selection circuit so as to output either the image imaged by the camera part of the camera slave unit or the image imaged by the surveillance camera onto the monitor part of the master unit.
