PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to easily utilize consumer equipment having a large number of functions, without making the user feel uncomfortable. SOLUTION: This consumer equipment is provided with communicating functions, having a display part for providing operation image, an operating part for operating an instruction to the display part, and a voice uttering part for providing voice announcement related to the instruction to the display part. In this case, the voice announcement is provided after the lapse of a prescribed time, since the instruction is operated by the operating part, and this equipment is provided with a recording part for recording the history of the voice announcement provision, and whether the voice announcement should be provided is decided, based on the history of the recording part or according to whether any or those operating parts is operated so that wasteful announcement is prevented. This equipment is also provided with a database for preparing a plurality of voice announcement data, and the announcement data selected random by from among the database according to the operation of the operating part so that uninteresting announcements are avoided.
