The assembly involves a flower container with a frame piece applicable to a first aperture is particularly, but not exclusively, suitable for flowers with long stems. It is formed out of a flat sheet of solid cardboard which has a rectangular base panel (2), with which via folding lines longitudinal walls (4) and end walls (3) are foldably connected. The end walls have end flaps (5), which are glued to triangular end parts (6) of the longitudinal walls. Via diagonal folding lines (S) the end parts are connected with the other parts of the longitudinal walls. The longitudinal walls are at the front provided with lips (7) produced by incisions and in a similar manner the end walls are provided with lips (17) formed by incisions. Centrally located in the base panel are several through cuts, with which locating flaps (8,9) are formed. The locating flaps (8) by means of folding lines (11) are connected with the remainder of the base panel, and the other locating flaps (9) via folding lines (12).
