PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic transducer of excellent directivity without using a method where an ultrasonic oscillator has carvature of convexity or a method where an acoustic lens is used for a flat ultrasonic oscillator. SOLUTION: At least two protrusions are formed on the ultrasonic transmission/reception wave surface of the ultrasonic transducer. The protrusions are made from carbon fiber composite material, and the carbon fibers of the carbon fiber composite material are arranged, orthogonally to the propagation direction of ultrasonic waves.
