PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved voltage supplying means for a micro-controller MC, capable of reliably supplying electric energy to the micro-controller even under the standby operating condition of a ballast in particular on one hand and minimizing power loss on the other hand. SOLUTION: A device HLV for supplying a voltage to the micro-controller MC is formed as a DC voltage converter, and the voltage inputting terminal of the DC voltage converter is connected to the voltage outputting terminal of a DC voltage supply circuit GLV while the voltage outputting terminal of the DC voltage converter is connected to the supply voltage inputting terminal of the micro-controller MC.
