PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging material for a lithium ion battery that can stably seal, without causing short circuit between a barrier of a sheathing body and a tab by the heat and pressure of a heat seal in inserting a lithium ion battery body into the sheathing body with a heat sealing layer formed of polyethylene resin, and sealing it by heat-sealing the peripheral edge in packaging of the lithium ion battery. SOLUTION: The sheathing body of a lithium ion battery is composed of at least a base material layer, an adhesive layer, aluminum, a chemical conversion treated layer and the heat-sealing layer.
