PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control system capable of improving operability and succeeding environmental information when controlling a device using a remote controller. SOLUTION: The remote control system has a video server 1 to be an information source, a network 2 connected to the video server 1, a first television receiver 3 and a second television receiver 4 connected to the network 2, and a remote controller 5 for making information to be supplied from the video server 1 with an operation instruction to the receiver 3 or the receiver 4 viewable. The video server 1 is respectively provided with a reception means for receiving an instruction from the controller 5, a location recognition means for recognizing the command receiving location of the controller 5 and an environment recognizing means for recognizing environment.
