PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set a stitching position in the case of double face recording, and to arrange images on the surface and the back so that they can easily be viewed irrespective of the setting of the stitching position. SOLUTION: A stitching position setting part 20 is installed in image communication equipment 2, and left side stitching, top stitching and the like are freely set. In the case of left side stitching, auxiliary scanning directions are made common on the surface and the back. In the case of top stitching, an image direction is inverted by 180 degrees at the time of recording the back and the auxiliary scanning directions are made opposite at the surface and the back.
