PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus capable of realizing high- accuracy estimation of a type of movable body, at a low cost. SOLUTION: By collecting images of a vehicle, running on a road 10 with a TV camera and processing the collected images with an image processing apparatus 30, data of the location, speed, predicted location, and predicted speed of the vehicle shown in the images are created. Based on the data of the location, speed, predicted location, and the predicted speed of the vehicle for each of the generated images, the type of the vehicle shown on the images is presumed to be one of a single vehicle moving on the road 10 by itself, a group of vehicles moving on the road as a group, or a single vehicle moving on the road 10 by itself, after having separated from a group of vehicles which are moving on the road 10 as a group. |
