PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminant capable of easily and surely emitting light having large luminance with very small consumption power from all positions desired to emit the light in the entire merchandise field, in other words, extremely brightly emitting the light and to provide an illuminant device using the illuminant. SOLUTION: This illuminant comprises an illuminant body 1, a core material 2 formed of a conductive substance, a luminescent element 3 wound around the core material, and an electrode element 4 electronically connected to the core material 2 for emitting the light from the luminescent element 3.
