PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the scattering or the like of toner in a thermal fixing device. SOLUTION: In the thermal fixing device (18) provided with a heating means (26), a pressurizing means (27) and a fixing inlet guide plate (58) having conductivity and capable of guiding a recording medium (3) to a nip part (60) between the heating and pressurizing means (26, 27), the guide plate (58) is held in a floating state. As compared with a case for connecting a conductive fixing inlet guide plate to an earth or forming the whole guide plate by resin and holding the guide plate in a floating state, the scattering of toner can be more reduced.
