PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to emit multi-color light containing blue at low cost without using a blue light emitting diode. SOLUTION: The multi-color light emitting device is provided with an EL element 6 surface-emitting in blue, a light transmission plate 3 arranged under this EL element 6, a red light emitting diode 4 for making red light incident to this light transmission plate 3, and a yellow light emitting diode 5 for making yellow light incident to the light transmission plate 3. Therefore, red light can be surface-emitted by making it incident to the light transmission plate 3 with the red light emitting diode 4; also yellow light can be surface-emitted by making it incident to the light transmission plate 3 with the yellow light emitting diode 5; further, blue light can be surface-emitted with the EL element 6; and furthermore, the light transmission plate 3 is laminated under the EL element 6, therefore, each emitted color can be combined, and thus multi-color light containing blue can be surface-emitted at low cost without using a blue light emitting diode. |
