PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the contact or the collision of a loading/unloading area on a disk with a ramp member when an external impact is applied to a magnetic disk unit using the ramp member. SOLUTION: A disk drive using the ramp member 20 is disclosed. The ramp member 20 has an inclined surface part 20A for holding an actuator, and opposite surface parts 20B and 20C opposed to both sides of the disk 1. The opposite surface parts 20B and 20C have step parts 20D, and are opposed to the loading/ unloading area 10B and the outermost periphery area 10C on the disk 1. The opposite surface part 20C is opposed to the outermost periphery area 10C of the disk 1 at a small space.
