PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize processings of the entire system in a system having a plurality of storage devices to perform a normal processing and a plurality of background processings other than it. SOLUTION: In the system having a host computer 10 to make an access request to an optional disk array device and a plurality of disk array devices 20 to 2N to perform the normal processing according to the access request from the host computer 10 and a plurality of background processings other than it, a priority setting command issuing part 43 creates priority tables 56 to indicate processing priority of among the normal processing and the plurality of background processings for the respective LUs according to usage of the respective LUs in the respective disk array devices by every disk array device and issues the tables to the respective disk array devices. Control software 54 on the disk side acquires and stores the issued priority tables 56 and performs processings according to the contents of them.
