PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processing system capable of realizing flexible authentication between a memory-mounted device and access equipment and the verification of an access control ticket. SOLUTION: The memory-mounted device decides and executes either one of a public key system or a common key system as a mutual authentication system with access equipment based on the description of a received access control ticket or the designation from the access equipment. Also, the memory- mounted device decides and executes either one of the public key system or the common key system as the verification system of the access control ticket based on the description of the received access control ticket. Thus, it is possible to secure data communication between the device and the access equipment with respect to the carious configurations of the access control tickets under various environments.
