PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate protocol analysis in which extends an original protocol or an existing protocol, and reduces the burden on a user in this case. SOLUTION: This protocol analyzer is equipped with a user interface means (a display part 31, an input part 32) where the specifications of a protocol to be analyzed are defined and fetched, a definition file storing means (a definition file storing part 37, a protocol discrimination table file storing part 38) where the taken-in contents are registered and preserved, and a control means (control part 35) which selects a plurality of protocol definition files preserved in the storing means 37, 38 and indicates the analysis of a signal propagating between apparatuses according to the selected definition files. Various kinds of data are contained in the definition file, and the control part 35 determines and displays arbitrary data from monitoring data collected via a receiving part 33, on the basis of the various kinds of data.
