PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a board holding mechanism which can be fixed to substantially any general purpose PC of prior art while having a high degree of freedom and can reduce the size and weight of a component. SOLUTION: In order to fix a board 3 to a connector 2 provided on the exterior cover 1 of a PC body, the fixing part 5 of a component 4 for locking the board 3 is tightened by means of a screw 8 with respect to the screw fixing part 7 of an L-shaped bracket 6. An elongated hole 9 is made at the fixing part 5 and the end face 11 of the locking member 4 is abutted against the inner back face 10 of the exterior cover 1. The locking member 4 secures the board 3 while retaining the upper edge thereof by means of a screw 12.
