PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant operation management system capable of improving the quick responsiveness and generality of countermeasures to the failure of a plant located in a remote place, especially, a papermaking plant. SOLUTION: A plant operation management system 10 is constituted as a server/client system connected through an information communication network 8, and a client 31 side is arranged with a monitoring means 4 for monitoring the operating states of plant constituting equipment 1A-1E and a display means 4B having an information display function, and a server 30 side is arranged with an operation managing means 10 for managing the operation of a plant 1. In the operation managing means 10, the failure of the plant 1 is detected based on the operation condition of the plant 1 and information related with the operating state of each plant constituting equipment 1A-1E from the monitoring means 4, and a solution corresponding to the contents of the detected failure is selected from a data base, and information for displaying the selected solution is transmitted to the display means 4B.
