PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer, a printing method and a recording medium which prevents the quality deterioration of a print and improves the appearance. SOLUTION: A controller 3 generates electronic data for printing an index on a printing paper, based on synthesizing data taken from a frame card via a data acquirer 7, generates quality data expressing the quality of the synthesizing data and controls a carrier 1 and a printer 2, based on the electronic data and the quality data. Adding the quality mark to the synthesizing data, based on the quality data expressing the quality of the synthesizing data, prevents the synthesizing data with the added quality mark from being processed to enlarge an image beyond a specified size, as the resolution of the synthesizing data is low below a specified value. Thus, when the image data and the synthesizing data are synthesized to print a synthesized image on a printing paper, the quality deterioration of the print is prevented to improve the appearance.
