PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling facsimile equipment and the facsimile equipment capable of effectively compressing image data. SOLUTION: Information quantity of image information to be transmitted is reduced by detecting, counting change points of pixels for every line for stored pieces of image data and omitting the line next to the one the counted value of which is smaller than prescribed on the transmitting side.
