<p>When the leg rest of a seat is operated a management unit estimates the motor current (60), the time derivative (62) and the sense of operation (64). If the leg rest is being retracted the current and current derivative are compared (66,70) to retraction thresholds (I1,D1) but on extension the comparison (72,74) is made with extension thresholds (I2,D2). Where thresholds are exceeded the actuating motor is reversed for a short distance. An Independent claim is made for a seat using the differentiated thresholds</p> |
