PHASE CHANGE RECORDING MEDIUM, RECORDING DEVICE AND RECORDING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium of a phase change type which can simultaneously realize proper melting recrystallization and high erasing ratio, a recording device having the optical recording medium and a recording method for recording information in the optical recording medium. SOLUTION: The phase change recording medium is characterized by providing with a substrate and a recording layer 4 which is provided on one main surface of the substrate and generates phase change between an amorphous substance and a crystalline substance by light irradiation and by providing a plurality of pinning sites 4b which make crystal growth from a crystalline region around a molten part toward a center of the molten part discontinuous at least at one among a boundary between the recording layer 4 and the substrate and an inside of the recording layer 4. The crystal growth is observed in a cooling process after the molten part is generated by heating a part of the crystalline region of the recording layer 4 at or above melting point of the recording layer 4.
