PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect any enciphered video data to be distributed from being illegally copied. SOLUTION: A contents protecting device is provided with an image protecting unit 30 for performing specific scramble processing in a system different from the cipher system of enciphered video data E (K, M) to be distributed instead of its decoding by a conventional personal computer(PC) and an extended video board 30 capable of de-scrambling the scramble processing.
