PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera that enables a camera side to semiautomatically manage recorded contents of a recording medium by giving attention to a user with respect to the recording medium where title information is set. SOLUTION: A system controller 27 for deciding whether or not the title information of a recording medium used as management information is recorded on the recording medium 5 mounted on a media drive 6 and an LCD displaying part 21 for displaying the title information read from the recording medium before recording real data on the recording medium when the title information is decided to be recorded are provided, a user is notified of the usage of the recording medium with the display of the title information on the LCD displaying part to urge the user to pay attention, and recording is performed according to the attention. Thus, the camera side semiautomatically manages the usage of the recording medium, and as a result, a recording medium where information such as images and sounds is managed can be prepared. |
