PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an offset level detecting method suited to automatic color gain control for analog video signal. SOLUTION: The offset level detecting method suited to automatic color gain control for analog video signal is used for finding out an optimal offset level for determining the input of automatic color gain control. This method is provided with following steps at least. First of all, the lower limit of the minimum value of an analog video signal is determined, The position of the lower limit of the minimum value is determined as a first minimum value 100. The upper limit of the minimum value is determined back from the first minimum value. The position of the upper limit of the minimum value is determined as a second minimum value 110. Finally, the first and second minimum values are averaged for providing the optimal offset level.
