Pipe-line leak-detector employing radio- - active isotape in transported fluid
摘要
A discrete amt. of radioactive isotope (e.g. sulphur 35) is injected into the fluid (e.g. heating oil) at the beginning of the pipe line. Radiation detectors and timing units are located at predetermined intervals along the pipeline. Alternatively thermal neutrons are injected into the fluid and registered as they pass along the pipeline.
