摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-way communication system via an optical fiber transmission line that makes two-way communication, using a signal with the same wavelength via one optical fiber transmission line and effectively detects a fault in the optical fiber transmission line, so as to prevent confusion in a network, such as a LAN connected to the optical fiber transmission line. SOLUTION: An optical conversion bridge 30 transmits a packet having a direction identification tag denoting a communication direction added thereto, to an optical conversion repeater 40 with each other via the optical fiber transmission line 50. Each of the bridge 30/the repeater 40 detects the direction identification tag and discriminates whether the direction identification tag comes from the opposite device, that is, the repeater 40/the bridge 30. When the direction identification tag is not the direction identification tag coming from the opposite device, the bridge 30/the repeater 40 discriminates that there is a fault in the optical fiber transmission line 50, issues an alarm, forcibly inserts an error to a CRC code of the packet, to which the wrong direction identification tag is added and allows a succeeding circuit to abort the packet.
