PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording medium in which excellent repro ducing information from a pit row for reproduction only and the excellent reproducing information from a guide groove for recording and reproducing can be obtained, optimum tracking characteristics can be obtained even in an unrecorded region at all times and the optimum tracking characteristics can be obtained even in a recorded region at all times by reproducing an inter mediate region composed of the pit row by a tracking system of a differential push-pull system or a phase difference system. SOLUTION: In this information recording medium, the bottom surface positions of the guide groove and the pit row formed on a disk substrate are located on the same plane and are both flat. Also, the intermediate region composed of the pit row the height of which is changed between height from the bottom surface to the side face of the guide groove and height from the bottom surface to the side face of the pit row is provided on a switching part where the pit row changes to the guide groove or the guide groove changes to the pit row. |
