The system comprises circuits for capturing a current image, and processing it. Circuits are provided to detect movement within the image, and determine the location of the face within the image, enabling transmission of simplified image data. The system comprises a circuit for capturing a current image, and a circuit for processing the captured image. This comprises a coding stage (ETC) with an image memory (MM) storing a previous reconstructed image, and a movement estimation circuit and prediction unit (BEM). This is linked with a circuit for transmitting the image which is delivered by the processing circuit. The coding stage (ETC) also comprises a detection unit (DVS) for the face with the image, which is connected to the capture circuit, providing an indication of the position of the face area within the image. The output of the face detection unit is connected to an input of the movement estimation unit.
