PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a coin at a position separated from the operating body for checking and releasing the driving of a pay-out roller, and to return the coin only by oscillating a branching body, without having to turn the operation body. SOLUTION: This vending machine is provided with a medium pay-out part for conducting the turning of a handle to the pay-out roller via a pay-out transmitter, and feeding out a medium stored in a storage case, and a coil-detecting operating part D for checking the operation of the pay-out transmitter and enabling the operation of the pay-out transmitter in charging the regular coin, the coil detecting operating part D is provided with a coin selector 44 for discriminating the coins B, and an operating mechanism E, to which the regular coins are fed from the coin selector. The operating mechanism is provided with the operating body 55, interlocked and connected to the pay-out transmitter, a checking rod 51 for controlling the operation of the operating body 55, the branching body 48 for temporarily storing the coins fed from the coin selector and dropping the coins by oscillating the same, and an interconnecting member 65 facing the checking rod via the coin on the branching body, and controlling and releasing the checking rod through the coin by the preliminary operation of the operating body.
