PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile system for shortening a transfer time for transferring the image data in accordance with conditions and displaying the image data promptly. SOLUTION: The facsimile system includes a main apparatus (A) and a handy scanner (B). A CPU 30 of the handy scanner (B) culls out the image data to be transferred and transfers them to the main apparatus (A) when the display mode for displaying the image data is selected on the main apparatus (A). On the other side, the CPU 30 transfers the image data directly to the main apparatus (A) when the printing mode for printing the image data is selected on the main apparatus (A).
