PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk unit which has the high-speed and correct seek control of a basic tracking actuator or a feed apparatus for processing seek with various length in the shortest time. SOLUTION: The optical disk unit is provided with a head part 13 for recording or reproducing information on or from an optical disk 2, a main body 6 to support the head part 13, a drive part 14 to move the head part 13 or the main body 6 so that a light spot 3 may cross the optical disk 2, and a control part. Whenever a controlled system moves by a prescribed distance, the control part obtains the moving speed of the controlled system, obtains a reference speed according to the specified distance, and then performs the constant acceleration-deceleration control of a target drive part.
