PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which prevents replenishment of a developing unit with toner during a toner forced-replenishment operation and securely fills the toner hopper with toner. SOLUTION: The image forming device has a developing device 12 provided with the developing unit 20 and the toner hopper 21. The developing unit 20 has a developing roller 25 and develops an electrostatic latent image on an image carrier (photoreceptor 10) with toner. The toner hopper 21 receives toner from a toner bottle 47 and replenishes the developing unit 20 with the toner. The image forming device has a filling mode for filling the empty toner hopper 21 with the toner in setting the device at an initial stage, thereby getting ready for the first copying. In the image forming device, the developing device 12 is provided with a toner replenishment port opening/closing member (band-like member 46). During the filling of the initial toner into the toner hopper 21, the opening/closing member closes a toner replenishment port 28 through which the toner is supplied to the developing unit 20. After the filling of the toner, the opening/closing member opens the toner replenishment port 28. |
