<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image information decoding and reproducing device capable of continuously reproducing pictures even in the case designation is made so as to end reproduction with any picture and to start the reproduction with any picture in a GOP. SOLUTION: This image information decoding and reproducing device is provided with two storing means 119 and 120 for storing read image streams, a particular information detecting means 107 for detecting the top of a transfer unit, and a decoding means 124 for selectively reading data from the two storing means and independently decoding the data. The first half of a stream to be connected is stored in the first storing means 119, and when the top of the latter half of the stream is detected, the top of the latter half is stored in the second storing means 120, decoding is carried out up to the start PTS of the last half of the stream while decoding the stream of the first half, and when decoding to the end PTS of the first half of the stream is completed, switching is performed.</p> |
