PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light weight reel for film carrier tapes for mounting spoke type electronic components which is superior in rigidity, heat resistance and wear resistance. SOLUTION: The reel 1 has a core 2, spokes 3 and a ring 4. The core 2 is made of a 3000, 6000 or 7000 type aluminum alloy in JIS H4000 which has a proof stress of 80 N/mm<2> or more and a high temperature proof stress of 50 N/mm<2> or more as held at 180 deg.C for 100 hours. The spokes 3 are made of an aluminum material having a proof stress of 250 N/mm<2> or more and a high temperature proof stress of 100 N/mm<2> or more. The ring 4 is made of an aluminum material having a proof stress of 80-350 N/mm<2> , an elongation of 10% or more and a high temperature proof stress of 50 N/mm<2> or more.
