The heater (12) for a car which operates independently of the engine has a control unit (14) which is connected to a ventilator (16). This coordinates the heater and ventilator so that the ventilator acts as a recirculating air system. Independent claims are included for (a) a car fitted with the heater; and (b) a method for heating the car using the heating system.
