Closed spraying chamber alternately used for two operating modes, i.e. wet coating and powder coating, comprises at least two exhaust openings for outgoing air accessible and closable via footboards (7, 8). The exhaust openings are connected to a guiding device for each operating mode which produces low pressure and removes outgoing air. The two guiding devices each branch into a subsidiary channel (13, 14) connected to the exhaust opening not provided for the respective operating mode so that at this exhaust opening a relatively lower pressure than at the open exhaust opening is produced which is sufficient to hold a light cover (20), e.g. a plastic film section, on the footboard. Preferred Features: Each guiding channel has a main channel receiving the outgoing air of an exhaust opening provided for the respective operating mode. Each of the main channels is connected to one of the subsidiary channels.
