The tubular spring is made from a thermoplastic elastomer. Its walls consist of a vertical top section (31) connected to an inwardly-sloping section (32). The bottom of this is connected to an outwardly-sloping section (51) which is in turn connected to a second inwardly-sloping section (52). The sections fold down, one on top of the other, when the spring is compressed. An Independent claim is included for a preform from which the spring can be produced.
