The device has at least one support foot (1) for placing on the ground, and an extractable connection device (2) to form a positive connection with the shuttering (4). Lifting devices (3) between the foot and the connection device lift the latter relative to the foot. The connection device is moved in and out by a drive, pref. a hydraulic or pneumatic drive. During raising of the shuttering, the foot projects further into the excavation than the connection device.
