<p>A hybrid oil filter assembly including a housing (11), a first conventional oil filter (30) disposed in proximity to a bottom portion of the housing, and a second filter element (21) disposed circumferentially about a length of the first oil filter element (30). The second filter element (21) is formed of rolled paper andremoves particles from the oil of a smaller size than particles removed by the first filter element (30). Oil filtered by the second filter element (21) is directed to an interior of the first filter element via a communication path to mix with oil filtered by the first filter element (30).</p> |
