<p>Mining of non-ferrous metals from deep sea ore sludge. Process comprises a chlorinating treatment at 750 degrees C pref. 1000-1150 degrees C using a solid chlorinating agent in excess of the stoichiometric amount referred to the non-ferrous metal content, pref. 1.2:7 times in excess, which is calculated by the removal of a corresponding amount of seawater, effected by washing with water of low salt content.</p>
