The frequency disparity detection method has the variation in the long-term mean of the setting value for the voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) within the phase-locked loop for the high quality clock regenerator (HQC) of the synchronisation network evaluated by comparison with a reference value (3), for determining the characteristic drift of the voltage-controlled oscillator.
