<p>The invention relates to a method for measuring the distance between an object and a known measuring point. In the method is used a beacon (1) located at the measuring point and revolving about its vertical axis, the beacon transmitting at least one bundle of lines (2, 3) of the laser or infrared zone, which is in an angular position with respect to the vertical plane. In the method, the radiation emitted from the beacon (1) is received by a receiver (5) located at the point to be measured and mounted in an essentially vertical position, the receiver comprising at least two radiation detectors (6, 7) on top of each other, the mutual known difference in levels between the detectors forming a known measuring base. The bundle of lines (2, 3) mentioned in the method, which is in an angular position with respect to the vertical plane, hits the detectors (6, 7) at different points of time, thus producing detector signals which are entered into a processor (10) connected to the receiver, the processor calculating the distance of the point being measured from the beacon on the basis of the data provided by the detector signals and the said known measuring base.</p> |
