The device has a brake disc with a friction lining and an actuator with which the lining can be pressed against the disc. Pivoting the supporting element alters the angle at which the supporting element supports the lining. The device has a brake disc (14) with a friction lining (18) and an actuator (20) with which the lining can be pressed against the disc. The actuation device has a pivotal supporting element (22) via which the friction lining is supported on a thrust block (32,34), whereby the supporting element engages the lining in a pivotal manner and is pivotably supported on the thrust block. Pivoting the supporting element alters the angle at which the supporting element supports the lining relative to the disc.
