Novel compounds of the formula (wherein each n is 2 or 3; R is CH 3 or C 2 H 5 ; X is O or S; and Y is guanidino) and acid-addition salts thereof, are prepared by reacting one mole of an acid-addition salt of a 2-alkyl-2-thiopseudourea R.S.C.( = NH).NH 2 with 1 mole of an appropriate alkoxy- or alkylthio-alkylaminoalkylamine or an appropriate aminoalkylaziridine in water at 0‹ to 50‹ C. Starting materials of the formula are prepared by reacting an appropriate alkoxy- or alkylthio-alkylamine with hydroxyacetonitrile or acrylonitrile to give a compound of the formula (wherein m is 1 or 2) and reducing this. 1 - (3 - Aminopropyl) - aziridine is prepared by reduction of 1-(2-cyanoethyl)-aziridine. 2 - Ethyl - 2 - thiopseudourea sulphate is prepared from the corresponding hydrobromide and silver sulphate. 3 - Methylthio - propylamine is prepared by reduction of 3-methylthio-propionitrile. |
