The invention relates to a wheeled excavator comprising a lower chassis with an undercarriage, which has a front axle and a rear axle, and comprising an upper chassis that is arranged on the lower chassis. A blade is mounted on the end of the frame of the lower chassis, said end being located on the same side as the front axle. The lower chassis has an articulated frame steering with a front lower chassis part that accommodates the front axle and with a rear lower chassis part that accommodates the rear axle. The design of the wheeled excavator should be improved in order to be able to significantly improve its stability without impairing maneuverability. To this end, the pivotal point (4) of the articulated frame steering is located distinctly closer to the front axle (5) than to the rear axle (7), and the upper chassis including the prime mover is arranged on the rear lower chassis part (3) that is distinctly longer than the front lower chassis part (2).
