The piston engine is of swash-plate construction. A swash plate (5a) is formed integrally on a rotor (5) born in a housing (1). The rotor bore (5b) contains a driver part (8), which is synchronously connected to the rotor and projects from the housing. The housing has concentric cylinder bores (2), each containing a working piston (3), which is supported on the swash plate. The drive unit is constructed as a wheel drive.
