The present invention concerns a method for selectively targeting a medicinally-useful agent into cells in which a phospholipid scramblase (PLS) transport system is activated. The method comprises administering the agent, being a PLS-dependent transported compound (PDTC) to the cells, thereby causing selective transport of the agent into the cells. Examples of the cel ls are apoptotic cells, activated cells and injured cells. Also disclosed are pharmaceutical compositions for use by the method.
